Meet your team

Bente Kaiser

Co-founder & Physician (MD, board certified OBGYN)

Bente Kaiser is a board-certified OB/GYN. In 2010, she founded her private practice with the philosophy that each patient is an individual deserving a unique approach.In 2000, Bente earned her medical degree, graduating with honors from the Free University of Brussels in Belgium. She completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Bronx Lebanon Hospital and a two-year fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

In 2008, Bente and her family moved to Los Angeles, where she holds full privileges at Huntington Hospital and CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, where she served two terms as chair of the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Born in Norway of Dutch parents and partially raised in Germany, Bente speaks Spanish, Dutch, German, French, and Norwegian. She lives in South Pasadena with her husband and two children.

Sara Gottlieb

Co-founder, Licensed Midwife & Lactation Consultant (LM, IBCLC)

Sara Gottlieb is a Licensed Midwife (LM), Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with a previous career in nonprofit and healthcare advocacy.

Sara was licensed as a midwife in 2013, and has worked in local private practices, hospitals, and birth centers. In 2017, she started her own practice, Horizon Midwifery, to provide home birth services, well-person care, preconception, and lactation support for people and families on the eastside of LA.

She proudly hails from the south side of Chicago and happily resides in Altadena with her four kids (two sets of twins!), two cats and a horse.

Jessica Diggs

Licensed Midwife (LM)

Jessica Diggs, LM, CPM, is a midwife and reproductive health educator. Her journey in birth work began in 2012 when she trained to be a birth doula. Over the years, she has supported hundreds of  LA families as a doula or childbirth educator. In 2019, she became a licensed midwife and started her solo practice specializing in holistic gynecological care, home birth, and conception support. 

Jessica has a skill and love for making childbirth and reproductive education digestible and accessible for all people. She shares those skills with several brands as an education advisor; creating or reviewing reproductive health content for their clientele. Jessica is passionate about bringing midwifery care to all spaces even if she can not be at every birth.

When she’s not talking birth and bodies, she loves hosting dinner parties, traveling the world to eat, and devouring a good book.

Anahi Sanabria

Certified Midwife (CM)

Born in New York and raised by Paraguayan parents, her journey to birth work started with inspirations from her great aunt, the “neighborhood midwife” in rural Paraguay. In 2024 Anahi received her Masters of Science in Midwifery from SUNY Downstate. During her studies in New York, she also gained invaluable experience by working alongside top doctors and midwives at River & Mountain Midwives and Northwell Health with Full Circle Midwives. Anahi values culture and family, she graduated from Siena College with a BA in Spanish. She also worked at Planned Parenthood as a health care assistant giving countless women essential reproductive healthcare. Anahi has a strong passion for providing compassionate care to everyone she works with.

Kelsey Knight

Certified Nurse Midwife & Lactation Consultant (MSN, CNM, IBCLC)

Kelsey (she/her/hers) is a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Since 2012, Kelsey has supported hundreds of growing families as a doula, labor and delivery nurse, childbirth educator, lactation consultant, and now midwife. She’s worked in hospitals, homes, and birth centers. She even taught about fertility awareness and contraception across 60 U.S. towns on a three-month cross country road trip. Ask her about teaching in a used-car dealership in Paris, Arkansas.

She loves this work and is honored to offer individualized, empowering care with our collaborative Moxie team. Before working at Moxie, she lived in Dallas, Chapel Hill, and New York City, enjoying writing, knitting, and photography along the way.

Noelle Robnett

Certified Nurse Midwife (MSN, CNM, RNC-OB)

Noelle is a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) with nearly a decade of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She began her nursing career in 2016, with experience in both postpartum and labor and delivery, and has participated in over 1,000 births across hospital, home, and birth center settings.

Noelle is deeply passionate about birth and feels honored to support clients during one of the most intimate and transformative moments of their lives. She is committed to empowering families with knowledge, advocacy, and compassionate care, while honoring the natural physiology of birth and each individual’s unique experience.

She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two sons and enjoys spending time with her family, finding great vegan food, and reading a good book.

Caryn Fields

Student Midwife & Doula

Caryn Fields is a mother, doula, educator and student midwife. After over a decade of supporting families as a birth and postpartum doula and educator she made the decision to enroll in midwifery school at the Midwives College of Utah in 2024. She is excited about the evolution of her career and is loving the journey to becoming a midwife.

Caryn is passionate about debunking misconceptions around birth and empowering her clients during their preparation for birth and postpartum. She believes in access to quality care and is an advocate for reproductive rights for all people.

When she’s not at a birth, or supporting her clients she loves being home with her three daughters and husband. Her perfect day would be lounging in her comfiest jammies with a plate of sushi, and binging all her favorite movies. She is also a lover of sports and plays recreational soccer whenever she can.

Kate Zachary

Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

Kate has been working with families for over a decade providing compassionate care as a Lactation Consultant, Childbirth Educator, Birth and Postpartum Doula. She works hard to create a safe space where families can find their unique flow, rooted in the knowledge that there is no one or “right” way to feed a baby. Kate uses evidence based practices that she hopes to blend with practical and easy to follow guidance to help families achieve their goals. She has two daughters whom she learned valuable lessons from- especially in the realm of breastfeeding!

Ines Morales

Medical Assistant

Ines Morales is our medical assistant and phlebotomist. She loves to keep busy and is constantly moving. She's been with the team since 2016. She lives in Santa Clarita with her family and travels all that way because she loves her job!

Desiree Osugi

Office Manager

Desiree has been working with Bente Kaiser since she went into private practice. She worked in HR before becoming a stay-at-home mom for several years. In 2010, she was asked to return to school to learn medical billing and join the adventure which would eventually evolve into Moxie Birth. She enjoys RV camping, baking and reading. She lives in Alhambra with her family and fur baby.

Karen Coscolluela

Doctor of Chiropractic (DC)

Dr. Karen Coscolluela was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!), she earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from The Los Angeles College of Chiropractic at Southern California University of Health Sciences. 

Dr. Coscolluela is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the California State Board. She is also a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and holds both the perinatal and prenatal Webster certifications.

Dr. Coscolluela's involvement in sports helped develop her appreciation for chiropractic care. Although she has witnessed numerous positive outcomes in the athletic populations, she truly believes that chiropractic care is everyone: from infants to the elderly and from preconception to postpartum. Dr. Coscolluela is passionate about providing high quality care to her patients and their families. She looks forward to helping you reach your full health potential.
